In a dark alternate
world, Harley Quinn faces off against the Batman – but he’s not what she is
expecting.
The Good
The animation for Batman, and the environment is very nice
and gives off creepy feel that does fit the different universe it is set in.
It’s a nice blend of the Timm-verse animation with the current DC-animated
movie style. The fighting in Harley Quinn’s room was pretty cool and the
dialogue she had was quite funny, though Batman’s final line was by far the
best in the short.
This short leaves a lot of questions unanswered question and
honestly I’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing. I’m putting it in this
place because it does have a lot of potential to become something either in the
spin-off comics, season 2 of the show and, of course – the movie.
The Bad
The episode had a bit of a slow start and the music felt a
bit off in the beginning, it got better as the episode but still a rough start.
The Harley Quinn design is the worst costume she’s had in a
while in my opinion. It does make her much more creepy which does fit the tone
but honestly it’s a bit too revealing.
Side note – (This doesn’t affect the score) The gore was bit
over the top over for me.
The Ugly (The Verdict)
A cool, interesting short that defiantly got me into the
Gods and Monsters universe and made me want more. Though nothing breathtakingly
amazing, the short was nicely voiced, well directed and good-looking. This is a
great set up for what’s to come and all around nice one off episode.
